Remote Connection using both TCP/IP and named pipes

In SQL Server 2005 Service Area Configurations, I am trying update Remote Connections. Currently I am set at Using TCP/IP only, I want to update it to "Using both TCP/IP and named pipes". I get an access denied error when I try to update this???

I am logged in with the same login as the SQL Server Services login?

Do you know why I am getting access denied error and what to do to get past that?
