I have a named instance that is installed on a local machine
with SQL Express. When I try to connect to it remotely , I get "under default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections." I go to the configuration manager, but I can not see the named instance to set "allow remote connections." I only see the default instance MSSMLBIZ. I downloaded the SMSS manager express on the local machine and can see the instance database, but i can not see it through a remote machines SMSS manager.
In services I do see a SQLAGENT$NamedInstance, but the SQL Server service is set to MSSMLBIZ
How can I set this named instance to allow remote connections, if I can not configure it through the configuration manager, it does not appear?
