I'm working with 160 NT workstation. every few months I go around individually to each one and run chkdsk just as maintainence..

its time consuming with logging on and off, manually restarting, etc.

is there a way to remotely run chkdsk on all these machines? i dont mind going and restarting them all and maybe using some kind of script, but i really dont know where to start.. thanks.

What about using the at command to schedule it and write the output to a central location?

Something like

at 04:00 /every:7,14,21,28 chkdsk.exe ^>\\server\share\%computername%.txt

which should run chkdsk on the 7th, 14th etc at 4am and write the output to %computername%.txt on \\server\share. My syntax is probably a bit off but something like that ought to work. Then you can just use grep (get this from ) to run through the output files looking for problems.
