We have a small office temporarily moving to another location and I was wondering if the Merlin Magix Version 6.1 has the ability to remote call forward the current phones to their new phones? And if so what steps need to be completed?

Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry I typed in wrong version, we have Magix Release 3.0 v7.0.

We have a small office temporarily moving to another location and I was wondering if the Merlin Magix Version 6.1 has the ability to remote call forward the current phones to their new phones? And if so what steps need to be completed?

Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated.

Are you leaving the Magix in the old location, powered up, and the old lines are going to stay on it? If not, NO it can't'

If so, allow the operator trunk to trunk transfer and remote call forwarding, forward the console to the temporary number. If you need detailed steps, post.

The phone system will stay on, but the phones will be disconnected during the remodel.

If you could post the steps to allow the operator trunk to trunk transfer and remote call forwarding, forward the console to the temporary number that would be AWESOME. And very much appreciated.

At the main console, select menu, sys programming, start, extensions, more, remote frwd, rcf extensions, dial console number, press enter, back, more, trktransfer, dial console number, enter. go back to main menu, choose lines/trunks, more, principal usr, enter line number (usually 801 is first line) enter, enter console number, repeat last steps for all lines to be forwarded. When finished press home. Then lift handset or press speaker, touch intercom or system access button, dial #33 plus number, plus #. You should hear the bump-bump dial tone as a confirmation. This will forward all lines on the console. To cancel, touch intercom/sa button, dial #33 and the console number. Test this any time before the move. Hope this helps and I didn't leave any steps out.

darn, left out dialing 9 after #33. Try #33 9 plus number, plus #.

Thank you for the information!

Can this be done using WinSPM or will I need to out to the location?

You can do all the programming from Winspm, and have someone on site do the test forward. You could even do that, but it is a pain, much easier to just walk the console attendant through it, Be sure to tell him/her to answer on the first ring after the test call.

Remember that remote forwarding takes two lines per call. You may be better off having the phone company temporarily remote forward your lines to the new temporary location phone number(s). You may even have that service already available on each of your existing lines - remote forwarding is a pretty typical item included in bundled service from a Telco - so I would call your Telco and find out. Even if it was not included on your lines - you may be able to get it cheap for a temporary period.
