Has anyone had problems with remote call fowarding while using auto attendant up to answer calls? I have a Partner R7 with Partner Messaging using 4 ports.

I think what is happening is a call comes in to VM and takes a port, it is transferred to the ext. and is remote fowarded off site to the owner. Another call comes in and same thing. Now since these calls are forwarded out of VM they have to be transferred back out of VM to access a POTS line (on partner) to forward. So my testing has told me that two calls answered by AA and then forwarded eats all of there VM Ports and incoming calls ring to Ext 10. When I drop one of the remote forwarded calls all goes to normal. I am just curious about VM port usage when using RCF.

Does RCF use two VM ports when using auto attendant up Front?

Thanks
Bill

Avaya VM uses unspervided transfers. The VM port disconnects from the call when doing a transfer. It would be like you using a single line phone to answer a call, flash, dial an extension number, and then hanging up. At this point, the VM port is available for another call, and if the target extension were not forwarded it would be Auto VMS Cover that brings the call back to VM on no answer.

Put Auto-Intercom (DSS/BLF) buttons on a phone for the VM ports, and watch them while testing your senario.
