Here is our scenario:
All calls answered by receptionist. Receptionist puts call through to extension which has delayed forwarding. If person is not at their desk, the call gets forwarded to their cell phone.

All that works however on the two extensions we are doing this with, both users complain of either the caller can hear them but cannot hear the caller or the other way around. Apparently there are some calls that they can get through the call, though the volume is so low that it is difficult to maintain the call.

Are there any steps I can take to try fixing this? I have tried many thing on the cell phones, including using three different phone types. The issue seems to be centered in the Magix.

Thank you for your expertise!

Does the Magix utilize POTS lines or is it a T1/PRI that the inbound calls are coming in on? It sounds like they are on POTS lines which can cause a volume issue when connecting multiple analog lines together (the call comes into the pbx on 1 analog line and then forwards out on another analog line). T1's/PRI's are digital and do not run into this issue.

Yes, we are using POTS lines and the linked site explains a lot. Looks like I need to find an alternative.

Is there a way to program a FLASH button on the magix to take advantage of 3-way calling from the phone company?

The conf button sends a flash signal -if it is the first button presses in a call sequence - so press 9 - grab a line - press conf to send a flash - and the rest of the sequence to set up 3-way calling.

Say what? The Conference button sends a flash to the telco??

A RECALL button on the phone will send a flash to the telco, the Conference button will put the call on hold and take you to another SA button to place a call to the next party to the conference. Once they are on the line, Conference again will set up the call, using multiple trunks or intercom paths if the parties are internal.

TTT - a Conf button press as the FIRST press in a call sequence sends a switchhook flash. May be hard to believe - but it's true for a Legend/Magix switch.

TTT - I was wrong - the Conf button works as a flash signal only in an autodial sequence. A programmed Recall button needs to be used to send a switchook flash from a phone.
