Partner v6 and 2 port mail card v3
I have read all of the threads on this issue and I still am not sure how to do it. I want the AA to answer the call; give the option to use selector code to go to manager's mailbox; I want manager's mailbox to say "blah, blah...leave message or if this is an emergency, dial x to transfer to my cell phone."
Transferring to cell phone out of mailbox is the problem. The only one button 'out of mailbox' that I know is '0' which I understand is extension 10's mailbox. Since extension 10 is the default extension, will I have other problems if I use this extension to forward to a cell phone?
Is there another way to use a one button escape out of a mailbox? *8-13# is going to be too complicated, I know, so I need one button out.
I've tried to use a selector code while listening to the mailbox message but that doesn't work.

Hi chiptransisto,
*8 XX is the only way. The caller must be sent to an extension that is call forwarded. But it really sounds like you want message notification. You need a real voicemail system for that. That means Partner Messaging. The PVM cards are just too crippled to do much beyond basic functions.

And if you do go to Partner Messaging, you can redifine the Personal Operator of a mailbox to go to an extension that is forwarded to the cell phone if you really need live answering.

Thanks for all the help. Assuming that we can't afford Partner Messaging right now, will using '0' to go to extension 10 mailbox work? Assuming that I program extension 10 to call forward?

Yes, but all the callers that don't dial anything at the auto attendant, or dial 0 expecting a live person, will get forwarded out.

You could use Call Cover (#208) to set up some mailbox other than 10 to answer the calls instead of the Auto Attendant. Then callers can 0-out to 10, or just leave a message in the original mailbox.
