Is there any way I can create bootable cd for each remote box’s.
I have a few remote AIX client box’s
in my office also I have a p690 with multiple Lpars
Note the p690 is the only system that has a cd burner
Also note the remote AIX client box's do not have NIM client installed
I have AIX 5.2 on all systems

I was thinking to do it this way
1-NFS mount /export/mksysb from remote AIX to one of my LPAR that contain the cd burner let say /export/mksysb_p69
2-Run mksysb –i /export/mksysb/hostname.mksysb
3-Then run mkcd on my p690
is this cd will be bootable ?

I have never tried it but this sounds like it should work just fine. I assume you would use the "-m" flag to the mkcd command. I would make sure to test the CD out on a test server after I was done though.

Could you please your recommendation how else you would do it.

If your machines are all on the same AIX version and RM level, it should work. But follow Jim's advice and test it out properly!
