Up to the latest upgrade to 7.0, I have been able to remotely back up systems using the XBK command in LD 143. With release 7.0 it is telling me that I have to be directly connected to the call server cpu. We have multiple sites basically in the middle of nowhere, with no technical support on site to do this. Does anyone know of any way to do a remote backup on this version similar to using the XBK command previously?

The XBK command is still valid in 7.0. What kind of switches do you have? Are they CoRes or not? I believe you always had to be connected to TTY 0. What is the exact message you get when you try the command? If you have a CS 1000 and are using a tty port on an MGC card then that i more than likely your problem. You will need to be connected to the main Call Server, not an MGC card. Typically this is port 0 on the CPPM card.

That may be the answer and was my first thought. I had asked the installers to set the SEB to the call server, but I honestly do not know if that was done. I will take time to go look at one. Thanks for the input.

If the ELAN is routed and accessible to the rest of the network you can use a FTP client such as WinSCP to connect to the call server and download the backup folder from the removeable media. You can also do scheduled backups to a FTP server.
