Guys -
I am trying to set up analog dial-up for remote maintenance on ver 1.4. I am following the Remote Access Setup Job Aid from 11/15/02.

* Going to use an IP in same range as ipoffice subnet, so no return ip route...?
* Modem2 card installed.

Step 1) Create a user DI (for dial-in).
2) In user tab, enter name & password.
3) in dial-in tab, ensure that dial in on is ticked.
4) create RAS entry: new-> DI for name in step 1.
5) Create incoming call route w/ bearer capability to Any and point it to name in step 1.

I am able to connect and authenticate, but I cannot pass any traffic. I do have an IP manually assigned in same subnet using Windows Dial-up networking. Trying to ping server and RDP to server.

Thanks for any ideas!

Make sure that DHCP is ticked for dialup in system settings

You are screwed if you only have 1 line - as the incoming call route has to be set as voice, not data like it is with ISDN dialup - so when you dial the main number, it will go to the dialin, not the hunt group.

Use the maintenance *9000* to turn the modem on the first trunk on. All the docs say the trunk will flash when enabled, but this never seems to be the case....anyone else seen that?

you can hang a patch cord off of an analog ext to the first trunk port to gain access through the ipo. if you have extra trunk ports this is not an issue, just start with port two for actual trunks coming in.

You do not always get what you pay for, but you never get what you do not pay for.

cargoski - I am using a static address; therefore, I do not need dhcp. I have tried it though.

cztech, IPOUK, aarenot - This IP Office 406 has a PRI.

Any other ideas on what I may be doing wrong?
