My backup media server is inside my domain on a private IP scheme, but there is a computer out on the DMZ (different private IP scheme) that needs to be backed up. The remote computer is not part of any domain. How can I install the remote agent and get the media server to back up the computer on the DMZ?

Thanks

To install the remote agent on it AND to be able to back it up; your backup server HAS to be able to reach it. Try to PING it from the backup server. If you can't, then you won't be able to back it up.

(Start>Run type in cmd and click ok. That brings up the DOS command prompt. Type PING <ipaddress>. Use the ip address for the remote machine.)

Ty to copy the rant folder from your backup server place it on the server in the other DMZ, reboot. See if the remote agent service is present. Go back to the Backup server and add it by IP adress. DO a small test backup.
