Hi there,

I have a big problem with my Veritas Backup Exec 8.5 !
I installed it on a Win 4.0 Server.
And I installed 2 Remote Agents for Win NT/2000.
And a Remote Agent on The Linux Machine :)

Everything was running fine for 5 month but now I get always this error messag in the logfile when I backup the 2 other NT Servers:

Remote Agent for Win 2000/ Nt not present - Starting Standart Back up !

Can anybody help me please ?

Thx

Alex

The backup

Verify that your Backup Exec Remote Agent for NT/2000 service is started on all your servers.

This seeems to be the problem !

I don´t have this service !

Where can I get it ?

Thx

The prefered method of placing the remote agents on the other servers is to push them out. Do this by starting up Veritas CD in the Media server and push the agent out 1 by 1. You can also install them from the actual machine. that method places uneccesary files in your root and wastes space. Once installed on servers make sure the backup a services account still has admin access to the srvers and start the service.
