Over the weekend I installed BE 8.6 on a Win Nt 4.0 SP 6a box. Previously we were running v8.5. I can backup the local server fine. The remote server is running MS Exchange v 5.5 on another NT4 SP 6a box.
When I try to select the Exchange server everything is greyed out. If I check the properties of that server it tells me that the Remote Agent is installed and running.
I ran the bediag.fax on the media server (the local machine) and it tells me the following is installed:
1. Server Edition
2. Open File Option
3. IDR Option
4. IDR additional remote license option
5. Agent for MS Exchange 2000 server.

Does anyone have any ideas about this? One thing I noticed is that the bediag.fax says I have the agent for Exchange 2000 and I am running v5.5. Is there a different agent for v5.5?

Thanks for the help,

Dale Echnoz

Hi dechnoz,

The Exchange 2000 key is backward compatible, not the other way around (meaning if you had the 5.5 key and trying to back up an Exchange 2000 server, it would not work).

The Remote agent is installed and running, this is good.
The issue is you don't have a Remote Agent serial key listed.

Just run setup again, insert the key and you dont need to reselect any software to install, just click next.

Hope this helps...

Bobafet.
