Is there a way similar to SPM for the PBX to administer the voice mail system. Everything I see indicates it is accessed through the LAN port. I have many switches that do not have any LAN connectivity.

thanks in advance!

It depends on the version of Merlin Messaging - and you have to have the LAN Administration software. I believe only the newest version(s) is(are) available for download from Avaya. I don't believe the early Magix R1.0 and R1.1 had LAN admin capability. From R2.0 forward - they do - as long as you have the software. Each releases software is different and is not "backwards" compatible like WinSPM - so you need the specific software version for your Merlin Messaging release.

Thanks

With no LAN connectivity (I am remote from the PBXs) is there a way to transfer from the PBX into the voice mail for admin (similar to *10)?

As far as I know - there is no way to administer the Voice Messaging system via modem. The modem connection only gets you into the menu to set LAN connection specs and to view various items of data and logs - but not true administration. So you would have to connect remotely by getting into your client's network somehow. If they have never connected the Messaging to their LAN - or if they don't have one - then you are out of luck - because the LAN connectivity parameters need to be first set up via connection through the RS232 (modem) port.
