After you configure tcp/ip and define the gateway and traffic works in and out as it should ( I can ping an Internet address) is there anything special that needs to be done to enable me to remotely administer my Novell server? The firewall will have to be opened up (not sure what ports yet) but anything else?

Thanks in advance.

at server type

rconag6 encrypt
it will prompt you for a password
and then ports

at end it will ask if you want to create ldrcong.ncf - say yes and add to autoexec
this allows you to use rconj to server.
using this method you cannot use console1 though as you cant java to java

other way is using browser go to this will kick you to you can do most things from here

also if you have a rib board in it (wonderful invention)
you can set this up and go via browser and you can do anything that you can do physically at server
and i mean everything - ie bios settings , reboot server the lot

Cool.

Thanks a lot. Ribboard.... I will look into this.
