I'm trying to remotely configure a system with 3 incoming lines. I orginally configured the system so incoming calls to line 3 would get sent directly to the fax machine on Ext. 17. Now we would like to use line 3 for incoming voice calls as well, and let the Auto-attendant detect the faxes and route them to ext. 17.

After my re-configuration, incoming calls to lines 1 and 2 are answered by the auto-attendant and routed to the fax, but not 3. Calls to line 3 are answered by the auto-attendant, but not routed.

By the looks of the configuration on the Remote Administration softare, lines 1,2,and 3 are configured identically. Are there settings I cannot access remotely that could be causing this?

Thank you for any advice you can offer. (I'm using remote administration because the office I'm configuring is 1000 miles away).

Hi Barry,
It does appear that you have it set up correctly. Is ext 17 in hunt group 8? If you do find something in the manual that is not available via remote admin, just call them and talk someone through programming on ext 10 or 11.

Thanks for the reply itpphoneguy.

Strangely enough, things are working with the same configuration on lines 1-3. The only thing I did differently was set the non-existant line 4 from a line coverage extension of 17 to None. (This is a leftover setting from a prior configuration).

Essentially, cleaning up line #4's settings allowed line #3 to function properly. Strange, but I'll take it!

Hey Barry,
I guess that tells us not to leave any "mess" in the programming. Could have been a bit of corruption.
