Is it difficult to install a remote access (RAID)? on a Norstar?

Not at all. Just punch down RAD to any unused station port and connect power and program it.

feature 9** is for rad programming. I believe the password is "radadmin" . you could also go into port and dn status and make sure the ksu sees the rad. good luck

What programming has to be done, on the Irad itself or the system to talk to it?

If you are talking IRAD instead of RAD, the IRAD is internal to the CICS only and is enabled by a keycode unless your software cart. says w/IRAD.
Then, all you have to do is set a password for it. The default password is the system ID.

For an external RAD, you still need to set up a password.

Are you in the US or UK? I'm currently doing a lot of research for my company about the RAD. It sounds like i may have got a bit further though.
I have lots of documentation and software i would be happy to share if you want.

Email me and i'll be happy to help.
