i need to allow someone access to a sql 2000 box at the other side of a wall - what ports need to be opened to allow the use of enterprise manager - and how does he attach

sorry about my ignorance - sql is not shall we say my forte

Hi

Useful thing to look at it the SQL Server network
utility within the SQL programmes in the start menu
if you look up the TCP/IP properties its show the port that SQL is using
the default is 1434

hope this is of some help
