Remote Access

I have set up RAS on NT4.0 server. I can connect using win95/98 and Win2000 clients. However when I try connecting using an NT4 Workstation I recieve the following error message "Error 629. The data link was terminated by the remote device."

I have downloaded the corret driver for the modem from the INTERNET.

Does anyone know what is causing this?

What encryption are you running on the RAS server?

Does the NT client run the same encryption level?

Namely, this is done through the service pack you install, if you are running 128bit encryption on the server and the standard 40bit on the NT client, you will get the 629 error.

If this is the case, apply the 128bit service pack for the NT client. If it is not the case, check the authentication method of the NT click and make sure it is set to the same level of authentication as the RAS server.
