Is there a way to call into the 4K V7 and get a dial tone to make a call from the system rather than the home phone?
I have Doctors who want to make calls from the system with a hospital caller ID and not show their cell or home caller ID.
Can it be secure with an access code so unauthorized personnel cannot use it?

Excellent question! I'd like to know that as well. I know you can build an application in OpenScape Xpressions to do that, but that's a bit complex for what you're trying to do.

In my part the alternative solution that we came up is using VPN. Then activating SIP users to our HG.

Yes, but it is VERY VERY RISKY!! if you are not careful.

I can't remember the abbreviation for it - I believe it is DISA - Direct Inward System Access, but basically you set up a number that you can dial into that allows you to dial out as if you are on the system. If you do set it up I would recommend that you put very restrictive dialing rules on it so that callers can only call local, or within one area code, or whatever, and block things like international, 900 services, etc. Someone who has access to the number can make unlimited calls as if they were at the company. I did a quick search for setup documentation, but my vendor just showed up and I have to split....

DISA it was - you needed an analog trunk. When you called in, the 4K returned internal dial tone so you could then dial out.
