is there a way to use a norstar fast rad with NRU to remotely program a BCM 400? If not, what are my options besides IP?
Thanks

No, you cannot access a BCM 400 through NRU. The only safe way to access the BCM 400 is through the web browser. You can access the BCM through the modem but it still requires accessing the web browser. You can set up a VPN and have secured remote access.

So yo are saying only way is over IP? or is there a way like the BCM 50 where you modem in with a PPP dialer then open the browser??
Thanks again

The bottom line is this, most options that you have to be able to remotely access the network that the BCM is on should work. You have to access the browser and use Unified Manager to program the system safely. You can use a modem to connect to the system. The difference between the 50 and a 400 is that you open Element Manager for the 50 and you open the browser for the 400.

When you connect with the modem using a PPP dialup connection you then open the WEB Browser and enter the IP address of the BCM. It works the same as it does over the IP Lan just very very slow.
