I have a Magix R4.0 site that has intermittent issues with breaking dialtone when calling into the Remote Access number with SPM. The call progresses right thru the digit sequence and never breaks dialtone. I used to think it was the CO trunk, but we now have a PRI and the issue remains. The processor was recently replaced and the problem remains. Some days the SPM connection occurs on the first and every try. Others may take many attempts before connecting. Same issue whether dialing from a phone or SPM modem. Internal calls to the RA number never fail. Assisted transfer to *10 always works. Anywone have any thoughts on what is causing this problem.

what type of modem are you using...internal or external??

Using the internal modem on the processor board.

It has to be the dial string protocol...what Ver of SPM
are you using???

Using WinSPM 9.0.

Let me clarify my original post. Works sometime with SPM but usually not on the first few attempts. I get the same results dialing in with a TT telephone or a cell phone.

ok,...have you tried changing the line the RA uses to call into the Magix?
Before the PRI ckt...you were using a copper POTS line???

Your right TTT...bad TTR's will do it...best to test them.

TTR test is probably a good idea, although I have done it in the past. I know how to test using a telephone. Is there a way to test the TTR's remotely.

You can use the same format when testing the DTMF receivers remotely. Just enter the codes after connecting via Remote Access.

OK, thanks. I will try remote testing. Job site is about 75 miles away.
