Remote Access via RADIUS vs. Remote Desktop

So, I'm using remote dekstop with a pretty good degree of success to access my home server from work. I can't transfer files like I can with PCA or FTP, but it's functional for job start/stop.

I am however concerned with security and wondering if the RADIUS features would help secure the connection at all. I really don't know much about RADIUS at all.

I think the more security way is setup RDC over VPN.
