I have a customer that needs to access her BCM50 R3 voicemail from her cell phone. It works from all phones (cell and land line) except her cell phone that happens to be a TREO on the Verizon network. Her cell phone does work with other services that require DTMF tones. Is there anything I can change on the BCM or the cell phone that will make this work for her?

Thanks in advance.

I have a treo with no problems accessing BCMs. Although mines is with Sprint, it should work. I've honestly haven't had issues with Verizon cell phones.

In her Treo phone, go to phone preference. There's an area to check/uncheck DTMF tones. Adjust and test. Mines is currently turned off.

Is the system fully patched, I think there were issues with DTMF being passed and they released a patch to resolve

Was an answer ever found for this issue? I have the same issue with multiple cell phones on a BCM50 Rls 3.0 where the system doesn't recognize their DTMF tones. Some cell phones work and others don't. Also these same cell phones that don't work now DID work on their Norstar system that the BCM50 replaced.

Have her call your office phone and hit some keys on her phone and see if you hear them.

This is a Signature and not part of the answer, it appears on every reply.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

it could also be the duration of the tone when the button is pressed.

We've contacted Nortel and they advised that there is a patch to fix this DTMF issue. Apparently this is a known issue by Nortel, hense why the patch exists.
