Hello All,
I am trying to print to a local network printer over an RAS connection. The local workstation is an XP Pro machine running through an NT 4.0 server. The remote server is a Win2003 Server. I can get the printer to work by using the "net use" command to redirect LPT1 on the XP machine to the network printer. The problem is that the user must have administrator privilege to have the redirected connection. If I change the user to "standard" or "power user", LPT1 shows up as "disconnected" when I query using "net use" and I cannot print (the document stays in the que and shows an error). Is the "net use" command dependent upon the user privilege? Is this a printer privilege issue? Thanks for any help!!
