Hello, I have two Magix system networked together with a centralized voice mail system (Duvoice). I know i can call into the main system and be transferred to the admin modem(*10. This is working fine. How do I get access to the other system. No DID'S. If i set a line to remote access than I loose that line for incoming calls??

Anyg and all help will be appreciated.

THANK YOU
Ron k

You would make a pattern in UDP that takes something that you dial locally, and converts to to the remote access code at the other site.

For example, I want to dial 555 locally to reach remote access at the other site. Make a pattern that delets 3 digits, and had 889 (the default remote access code) as the "other digits" to add. Put 555 in the UDP and have it match this new pattern.

When I dial 555, UDP says it lives at the other switch, replaces 555 with 889, and it rings into remote access at the other switch.

Then put in a barrier code and assign it to SPM at the other side.

You dial string will be something like "555,,,,(barriercode),*10"

Do this for both switches, and you can be at either site and reach the other one.

If you also have DOS SPM loaded, you can connect locally with DOS SPM through the Admin port, and remotely with WinSPM to the remote site, and switch between the two programs. Very cool when you need to set up things between both sites, don't have to keep disconnecting and reconnecting.

Thanks TTT

I will try that on Monday when I have access again. I know the remote site has ext#s in the 600's. So that should be painless.

Thanks again.

TouchToneTommy, I think I understand what has to be done , however i am a little (lot) rusty on the udp tables and such. Could / would you please run through the procedures needed.?
main location > program udp 675 to go to site b
absorb 3, add 889

the rest i have done before,

Thanks

OK, looks like Tables > UDP Routing > (Pattern) > Enter > (Route) > Enter

Pool > (Dial the pool that you use to get to the other site) > Enter

Absorb > Drop > 3 > Enter

Digits > 889 > Enter

Now back up to System Renumber > Non Local UDP

675 as the Starting Number > Enter

675 again as the Ending Number > Enter

3 for the number of digits > Enter

(Pattern) > Enter

Now, you might have to modify your existing UDP, which I assume is 600-699 to 600-674, and 676-699 before you can do 675. I can't remember if it will kick you out, or mess up the existing settings. Of course, do a print of the Non Local Dial Plan before you start.

TTT, works great. Thanks loads.....
