Hi,my name is Tasha and I have a very critical problem that needs 911!! I have a gateway desktop that was running windowsME that was able to get hacked into to the point where i didnt have to be online for them to know i was on and use my puter...it ended up crashing!HARD!!! I recently bought a Toshiba1415 laptop and found that they have aken this comp. over also..and not just minor hacking...They have reformatted my msdos all the way to installing software on my system to watch me have audio...and gain more control over my accounts and comp than me..this l/t is running winxp and i did have security and ant virus..etc..EVERYTHING...they have literally installed all kinds of drives, rewritten dos..video..audio...ports...cards...more software/hardware than what came with my system already..it says they are connecting through LAN and wireless...i dont know ANYONE around here and always have my comp..how are they able to do this?? this is my 2nd computer how would they even know anything?? PLEASE HELP!!!TashaL74@aol.com

My suggestion is you contact the police or authorities about the problem you are having. There isn't anything we can do here that will ensure your safety or privacy.

Sounds like a backdoor Trojan. This is where an App is installed by a virus or diredt hack to your hard drive. Your system then acts like a server to any one who has the client app. giving them complete control over your system

1) Disconnect your system from the Internet. They cant control a system that's not physically connected.
2) Report this intrusion to the authorities.(ISP, Police)
3) You need to reformat and reinstall your Operating system to ensure the Trojan no longer exists.
3)Install firewall protection before you go back on line with a NEW IP address(contact your ISP they will assist you with this)

The reason you got hacked twice is because they know your system is unprotected and they know where to find you (IP Address)

I recently spent 6hrs removing one from a family members system

GOOD LUCK !

Hey and thanks..but the trojan is out of the question..maybe be how they entered but there is noway a backdoor sets up a LAN direct connect with infrared also enabled having my connection mgo from aol to their network connection...really...and a bot doesnt install ports...or...drivers....or all the other equipment that was placed on my system...Or is a bot actually that smart?? im not sure im believing that...TY....Tasha

The bot itself may not be that smart...but you can sure bet the creator of the bot is.....once the bot is on your system, the creater can use that bot to do other things....the bot is merely providing them the access to your machine...once there, they are doing all the work... Two other paranoid ideas:
If you have wirelesss it could be your neighboor. Wireless has a fairly good range. If you don't have a firewall or encrypted network you would be suceptible to someone next door.
If you use it at work maybe it could be a co-worker who doesn't like you much.
