Hi all,

I am considering getting something like a surface tablet and installing my front end database on this. How difficult would it be through a data connection to link on to the back end database back at the office?

I'm just after general info at present.

Many thanks for any pointers

Regards mark

Have no experience with this, but my understanding is that Access does very poorly with dropped connections, frequently becoming corrupted as a result.

Hopefully someone with direct experience will drop by!

I haven't used Access much in the last 5 years, but back then it was never recommended to try to connect to a remote database. At best you got a very slow connection, usually you would just end up damaging your database. Access wasn't designed to work remotely.
