Remembrance Day Announcements - Avaya IP Office

Hi All,
My company would like to play a 3 min announcement for Remembrance day over the desk phones and overhead speaker simultaneously. But the way i understand the overhead speaker the message gets recorded then sent out over the speakers, creating a delay from hearing it on the phones to the speakers.

Has anyone every setup something like this?

Easy, you need a 3rd party IP Client license, and an Algo SIP Alerter, create a user for the SIP Alerter and place that user into your Page hunt group. Go to Extensions - select the SIP Alerter extension - VoIP - 3rd Party Auto Answer - select "device auto answers" from the drop-down.

Your going to connect the output of the SIP Alerter to your paging amp.

Now when you Page that hunt group the page will go out to all of the sets in that hunt group including the SIP Alerter, and because you set the SIP Alerter to Auto Answer the page will go through it to your paging amp at the same time.

Good luck getting all of this together before November 11 though, but they'll be ready for next year!!

The SIP 3rd Party Auto Answer is a relatively new feature and may not be available on an older version of IPO software.
