Some websites such as this one offer a "Remember Me" option. I use this as my computer is behind multiple locked doors and no one else generally has access to it. However, on some websites that offer this option, it does not work. I can enter my user id and password, click the "Remember Me" box, login, navigate away from the site or close the browser, then when I imediately return to the site, I still have to enter my user id and password.

Does anyone have any idea on where to look to solve this problem?

Which sites ?

Does it happen with all browsers or only with some of them ? Do you have any security software installed which removes certain cookies periodically ? Do you have any browser extension installed which blocks certain scripts ?

Feherke.

Remember me" should drop a persistent login cookie for your browser.

If you clean your cookies or have cookies disabled, this will not be stored, and you will be forgotten, or never remembered.

It is separate from the browser's offer to "remember password for this page/site".

The following shows methods to locate cookies for various browsers, but is not necessarily accurate now, as browsers are updated very often, and may have changed structure - certainly Google Chrome has.

Some sites - like seemed to use persistent login cookies with a built in timer - i.e with an expiry date set. Thinkbroadbands cookies seem to last just over a month, Spamcops only last 24 hours though. So that may be webrabbits problem?
