Hello everyone,
I currently have a PDC in 172.21.178.0/24 subnet
I plan on moving the PDC to 172.21.216.0/24 subnet

Is there anything I have change other than the IP and update the AD sites?

Please advice

Thanks in advance

-Jaime

If this is a 2k or upwards server just do a nbtstat -RR and a ipconfig /registerdns in its new home to ensure the records all update and check the event log a little while after.

If theres more then one dc i would temporarily set the servers primary dns to one of the other dcs if its ad intergrated zone to avoid a possible dns replication issue and change it back an hour later.

Thank you theravager and 58sniper.
the server is windows 2003 SBS. i do have additional DC. I'm schedule to the move in about two weeks. I will keep you posted. Thanks again guys.

Here's a caveat or two from the MS site:

Q. What number and types of servers can exist in the Windows Small Business Server 2003 domain?

A.

There are no limits on the number or type of servers that can exist in a Windows Small Business Server 2003 domain, with the following exceptions:

Only one computer in a domain can be running Windows Small Business Server 2003.

Windows Small Business Server 2003 must be the root of the Active Directory forest.

Windows Small Business Server 2003 cannot trust any other domains.

A Windows Small Business Server 2003 domain cannot have any child domains.

Each additional computer running Windows Server 2003 must have a Windows Small Business Server 2003 client access license (CAL).

A Windows Small Business Server 2003 domain can have no more than 75 CALs. You can use CALs for each user or for each device.

Elmurado,
the sentence of your posting reads "A Windows Small Business Server 2003 domain can have no more than 75 CALs. You can use CALs for each user or for each device".

So does that mean that once my company reaches 75 employees exchange will need to be migrated to win2k3 standard edition?

Yes, you would need to migrate via a transition pack to remove the limitations of SBS, unless you want to move to a new domain.
