I am running GM 5.7, and we are planning to reload the server to upgrade the OS to Windows 2000 server. I've done a "practice" run, but I want to make sure I'm not missing something. I loaded the OS, then the SQL 2000, loaded GM, copied back all files to the same directory, and restored the database from the last full backup, detached and reattached. Everything "seems" to be working on the test server, but I'm worried about how the sync operation will be affected on the real server.....is there anything speacial I will have to do to make sure all the sync sites don't get messed up and that the sync server will still connect properly after the reload. The server will have the same name and IP.

Hi,

The GoldSync server settings are tied to the machine name so you'll need to recreate that element in the GoldSync Administration centre. Also depending on your type of connection your remote users may need to enter the new name of the server into their synchronisation profiles.

Regards,

Richard.

The machine name will stay the same, we'll just be upgrading the OS. So, it sounds like we'll be ok...thanks for the reply.
