Hi

We would like to route calls though a SIP service from our ISDN PBX in our main office.

I have heard of devices that provide a reliable interface that sits between the PBX and the ISDN Line, routes outbound calls through to the SIP Service, and though the ISDN when all SIP connections are in use or no internet connectivity. And will treat inbound calls as normal though the ISDN straight to the PBX.

Basically a reliable transparent gateway to VOIP.

My other option was to add an analogue trunk card and just us a basic VOIP router but this does not provide automatic detection for the interent being down (i believe!?!).

Any advice, products etc would be much apprecited.

Thanks
B

We've used an Audiocodes Mediant Gateway 2000 (SIP) for about a year now, been rock solid (unlike the ISDN providers)

Only the truly stupid believe they know everything.

Thanks Stu,

Its probably a little out of our price range we only have 20 extensions.

Do you know of anything lower priced, we have 2 x twin ISDN channels and would like 2-4 additional VoIP virtual lines.

Thanks
B

Well, you could probably throw together a Asterix server just to do this.

You might also check with Adtran. Probably best to just call or email them as they make so many diferent things you may not find the most cost effective solution just browsing their site.

Good luck and please let us know what you find.
