We currently use Cisco 79XX series phones in our VoIP network, which have reached end-of-life/end-of-support. We are looking at the Cisco 7800 and 8800 series phones as replacements. Please share reliability information about these phones, good and bad. We are leaning toward the 8800 series, but want to get some real-world evaluation about the product, its support, etc.

Thanks

You must be using 79X0's or 79X1's? Those are definitely EOL but the 79X2's and 79X5's are not!

Now the 7800's are nice but they do not make an expansion card for any of the 3 models. Plus the lowest end and the highest end models are set to 100 Full and the middle is 1G for some weird reason? We didn't like that. The 8800's are pretty awesome. Side cards, Intelligent Proximately on some models, and WiFi AP connectivity. Initially these were advertised to be used as a personal AP's but according to one of our AP guys, they decided to hold off on that till the 88X2's gens come out. I used the 9900's which are pretty swell as well.
