Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone can tell me of a way to remove SCSI reservations from external storage. In the recent past we decommissioned a server running AIX 5.1 with external EMC storage on it. The admin that did the work had unmasked the storage from the server before realizing he hadn't removed the filesystems, LV's, VG's or running rmdev -dl. So, the devices held SCSI reservations on them. By the time he realized his mistake the server had been powered down and cables removed so he could not put the storage back on and importvg to remove them properly. Ultimately we had to call the EMC support to have them remove the SCSI reservations from the back end. But, I was wondering if there is a way to do this if we were to pull the storage into another host. All help is much appreciated.
