Releasing files in NT

I am using Fox Pro with Crystal ReportsI have one report which I use several times in row with different parameters. Each time I open the files, print the report, and close the files. The problem comes when I try to open the data file a second time (the same one which I opened and close already). It appears that NT will not release the file until I exit Fox Pro. Any suggestions???

I don't use Fox Pro, but when you exit the file do you go file ->close or just use the X in the upper right hand corner. We have issues with CaseWare (a y/e financial statement program for accountants) staying open if we use the X. Ditto for Crystal Reports for Simply Accounting.

I close the data files from FoxPro and the FoxPro remains running.
