I have plugged small VM card into the ACS rel 7 processor (defaulted). Without any programming, VM picks up phone line after one ring. Is this normal? Do you need to do some kind of programming to disable VM card? I have installed (and programmed) quite a few of those and never saw this type of behaviour. Than, probably I have never dialed into the unprogrammed system with VM installed. Can anyone tell me if that's normal or I may be looking at the defective card?
Thanks

Check to make sure you have ports 78 & 79 assigned to Hunt Group #7. [smile]

I will try, thank you. What surprises me is that with no ports or lines assined, actually with no programming whatsoever, the VM can pick up the calls...

By default, all extensions ring on all calls. Voice Mail expects that there will be "mode codes" sent to it right after answering a ring. The mode codes tell the VM port what to do with the call; i.e., log into voice mail to check messages, answer with the auto attendant prompt, answer with a mailbox, etc. If they don't get the mode codes, they will choke, and thus the "transferring to Operator".

When you put the VM extensions in Hunt Group 7, the mode codes are sent automatically.
