Hello all,
As lots know, the passwords (OSL's) in software releases 7.0 onwards are encrypted.
My iSDX - S is running Release 7.1.
Does anyone out there know how the passwords are encrypted in this software release?
How many bits are used for the encryption (I suspect 48)and the method of encryption (AND, OR or XOR or a combination of these)?
Any information on this topic would be most welcome.
Cheers & Beers,
Telecoman.

Hi All,
Here is some further info. that I thought may help.
With the 7.1 software is a file called system manual. At the end of that there is a list of unrestricted passwords which look nothing like the normal passwords.
Using a Hex. editor I have found these passwords in their Hexadecimal format in the programme again looking nothing like those unrestricted passwords that we can easily derive from the header. I can however match them to the ones in the system manual. Entering them in the normal way (OSL etc etc etc) does not work - it only serves to encrypt them twice over!
Does anyone know the encryption processes used to get from this normal format to the Hex. format that I have found?
Help on this topic is for knowledge only and would be greatly appreciated.
Sincere regards to all,
Telecoman.
