We recently upgraded our 81c PBX from rls 3 to rls 6. The system has gone into split mode on a few occasions. Currently we have removed LD43 from midnights and the RMD has been removed from the CP PIV card. We believe the system goes into split mode when EDD is being performed. This PBX going into split mode has occurred during midnight routines as well as when we performed manual EDD’s.
2 Questions:
• Has anyone recently upgraded their PBX to rls 6 and experienced a similar issue?
• If you have recently upgraded to rls 6 can you please stat the CPU’s and let me know if you are in split mode?
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

This morning tech did an EDD. Both the EDD and BKO were successful. A few minutes later the system "self split" with the inactive FMD out of service.

SRPT101 LCS: CMDU on inactive side 1 is Out Of Service.
Going to split mode.

SRPT038 LCS: Split command successful.

SRPT048 DR: Master asked to stop updates and flush file system

I've heard rumblings about R6 and PIV CPUs going into split mode. The only communication from Nortel/Avaya has been to open a support case if you have a system experiencing the issue. I've done a couple R6/PIV upgrades and haven't yet run across the issue myself, but its been several months since the last one.

I just posted a question yesterday here, about my CS1K 6.0 CPIV which is currently in split mode foe some unknown reason.

We just upgraded from 5.5 to 6.0 about 5 weeks ago.

plug into the inactive core and see if it's booting over and over again.... seems to be a common thing with 6.0 and CPIV
