I have been deployed to install a New CS1000 (option11c) with 5.0. I cannot find where or how to setup the new NTP table required so that I can set the system time and date correctly. can someone point me to the correct documentation?

Are you not allowed to set system time & date in LD 2? Any errors?

Commands in LD 117 for Network Time Protocol are:

Code:
CHG NTP AUTHMODE - Change NTP Secured mode of operation
CHG NTP IPADDR - Change IP address of Primary and Secondary NTP Server
CHG NTP MODE - Change NTP communication mode
CHG NTP SECURE - Change NTP secured parameters
CHG NTP THRESH - Change three NTP threshold levels
CHG NTP TIMEINT - Change NTP time interval and set the offset
DIS NTP - Disable Network Time Protocol feature
ENL NTP - Enable Network Time Protocol feature
PRT NTP - Display NTP configuration
STAT NTP - Show the status of NTP
STOP NTP BACKGROUND - Abort the background synchronization operation
SYNC NTP - Synchronize in manual or background mode

Commands once basic setup done go to your sig server to configure

Check status of NTP.
Status information displays in four categories—current NTP
configuration, last NTP configuration, last synchronization error, and
counters—and includes the following fields:
• NTP enabled or disabled (if disabled, the report includes no
further information)
• IP addresses of the primary and secondary NTP servers
• local time zone offset from UTC
• time difference (delta) between system time and NTP server
• current threshold level: Minimal, Warning, Maximum
• secure mode of operation set to secure or insecure
• packets sent
• packets received

ENL NTP

CHG NTP IPADDR
CHG NTP MODE
CHG NTP TIMEINT
CHG NTP AUTHMODE
CHG NTP THRESH
CHG NTP SECURE
CHG UTCOFFSET <Time Offset>>

Thanks for all of the responses.
When I stat NTP or prt NTP i get nothing back then after 10 to 15 seconds I get a message invalid NTP table. I had the LD 117 guide opened and tried prompt for prompt

any other ideas???

there is no signalling server and the system in not connected to the customer LAN so I have no network time to synce to.

Load the latest dep list there are lots of patches for this error on nortel website

I will try the DEP list

Obviously I have tried to do it in LD 2 first and NEVER setup the NTP table when, in LD 2 you use the command STAD you get the same error NTP table invalid.

I tried that too!!!!
your advice though hit it as the exact error is listed in the readme for the newest Dep List. I had thought that it was already patched prior to my traveling to site.

Thanks again!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now I have an issue on the ntp server I can see the pbx attemp to sync but the pbx says it cannot connect to the ntp server \

any ideas

You are probably blocking UDP port 123 on your network. I had the same issue in my lab at first. Once I opened UDP Port 123 for INBOUND or WAN to LAN traffic all was well.

Another issue is that the NTP server may only allow you so many sync's per day/hour. They may have blocked your IP if you were going to an external source and syncing more than they allow.
