The subject hopefully gives you an idea, but basically. I keep getting spam reports even though as far as I can tell relaying is not allowed from my mail server.
I have checked I cannot relay by checking with a telnet to the smtp port on the mail server and when try to send mail get the relaying is denied message.
Is there any other loophole that you can get round even if your mail server appears to not allow relaying.
also if there is no relaying does this mean the spam originated on our own internal network? or can someone make it look as the the mail came from us even though it came nowhere near our mail server?
cheers
peter
