Relaying denied. IP name lookup failed [172.16.1.131]

We have decided to break off the corperate mail server and run our own at our local office. I decided to run ipop3 on our Slackware box. Every time I try to send mail from one of our terminals, this message comes up in /var/adm/messages. How can I get sendmail not to check for authenticity of the IP address? I'm not that worried about security being on our lan.

umm ... you have the anti-relaying section turned on in your sendmail.cf ... you don't really want to turn this off or you could become available to being a spam site ...

you need to add your new computer ip-addresses into the allowed relayers file ... (your access db) and then it'll send just fine

Go to /etc/mail/ and edit relay-domains to add something like this:
172.16.1. RELAY

Then, sendmail will relay your mail with no problems. Oh, it's a tab between the IP range and "RELAY."
