Relay & Sendmail

I have read and done what was suggested here on correcting this problem but stil
l no go.

Please help!!!!!

Did you set up relaying for localhost in your access file ?
If not here is how you do it:
Edit the access file in /etc/mail or in /etc (depending on your distro). Add the
following to the access file;
localhost RELAY
Save the file and hash to a db:
makemap hash /etc/mail/access.db < /etc/mail/access
Restart sendmail

Result!!!

I get this very same error when trying to send mail, I just installed a new email program called message manager 6 and it receives mail and internal email works but when sending mail I get the following error
smpt 550 <me@somewhereelse.com> ...relaying denied.

thought I would bump this thread to the top of the list to see if anyone knows what this is. Seems to be 2 of us with a similar problem.

Which version of sendmail? The one shipped with SCO will need more info for the relay rules.
