I'm having some trouble getting email to be sent out. I have an exchange 2000 configured behind a pix box. A funny thing started happening after a reboot yesterday. I can reply to emails that are outside the office, but I can't create send out new emails. Is this a relaying issue or is it something else that I'm overlooking?

Are you picking a user in your contacts? Sounds like a DNS problem but what's the bounced message say? Did you check the Event logs? That info would be helpful too.

it was a dns error. the external dns was configured to outside ip address. i simply removed the address and things are back to normal. thanks for your time
