I read a great thread explaining how to close of relay, but I am still having a problem.

Situation is: Exchange 5.5 server with folks connecting remotely through POP3. When I close down the server following the steps in the first thread ("route incoming mail", checking the box on restrictions without entering an IP address, changing protocols to add our addresses) I can't send e-mail anymore. I get a failure message of "the connection to the server was interrupted" or a relay prohibited, depending on if I make a couple of other changes.

Can anyone please help?

Under Routing Restrictions.... button
Open that up, and then make sure you have the check box on
"Hosts and Clients that successfully authenticate"
"Hosts and Clients with these IP addresses"

and leave everything in there BLANK
then restart IMS in Services
