Hello everyone,
I have two issues that I was hoping someone can help me out with. First off, let me briefly run-down the setup I have created:
-Windows 2000 Advanced Server
-Exchange Server 5.5
-Server is running Active Directory for our corporate domain
-Our corporate e-mail (@corpdomain.com) is being hosted elsewhere, for now
-I have setup e-mail accounts for one of our customers using their domain name (@custdomain.com)
First Problem: When the customer e-mails one of our office e-mail accounts (me@corpdomain.com) that is currently being hosted elsewhere for the time-being, the e-mail gets kicked back to them saying that that account does not exist. I assume that there is something that I must do to the Exchange server because it thinks that any e-mail address ending in @corpdomain.com should be hosted by it. This is only the case for customers using our smtp server to send out mail to us.
Second Problem: I have setup some simple relay restrictions to avoid our server from being used for spamming. The customer says that when they setup their e-mail account at home, for example, they have no problem sending out e-mail. When it is setup at their office, though, the mails get kicked back saying "relay for e-mail@domain.com is not allowed." Could this be a problem with their ISP, or is it something that I have to take care of on our Exchange server?
Any help with these matters would be greatly appreciated. If you need any more info, I will do my best to be as clear as possible.
Thanks!
Kosta
