I have a normally closed contact & a common coming from the security system to a magnetic door strike(24v).

I have the stereo jack wired w/bl to center(1) of jack(Relay1), w/gr to tip(2)(Relay 2) and bl/w gr/w to the shield(3).
When I connect to the n/c & common I am able to open & close the relay, however relaypulse will only work to close the connection.
If I set the relay to closed(the door locks), I cannot relaypulse to open.
If I set the relay to open(the door unlocks), I can relaypulse to lock for 5 seconds.

This is working on the current system.

The documentation from Avaya has no examples for me to look at, so maybe somebody here can help....

When you add an extra relay, you can reverse the pulse direction.
If necessary I can send you a diagram wich works perfectly with a normally closed circuit

psmit - I have the exact same situation. I have a system tied to a closure system that is a normally closed circuit. Can you please send me the same diagram as well?? Is there a way to configure the IP Office system to be in a normally closed state as opposed to open? Any help would be appreciated. Please send to chawboy89@yahoo.com. Thank you!!!

The documentation at the time of this post
I never received the diagram, and investigation into the matter showed that the IPO will never operate as a normally closed system. Even if it did, it will always default to open on a reboot.

I contacted the security company who maintained their system to put a reversing closure behind the IPO.
