Hello all,

I am setting up a new Exchange 2007 server at my work, to replace our current Lotus Domino system.

I have one server with the Hub Transport, Client Access and Mailbox server roles, and an Edge Transport Server in the perimeter. I can send email out with no problems. I have tested sending mail to the domain using GMail and Netscape (AOL) webmail, and those emails have gone through with no problems. However, when I try from my home account, the email is returned with a '550 5.7.1 Unable to relay' error. My home email is through AT&T, so the server is in the yahoo.com domain.

Here's the entire error:

Code:
Hi. This is the qmail-send program at yahoo.com.
I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following addresses.
This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out.

<valid.email@address.is.good>:
xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx does not like recipient.
Remote host said: 550 5.7.1 Unable to relay
Giving up on xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx.

Any ideas why I can send email to my Exchange server with no problem from GMail and Netscape Mail, but get this error from AT&T/Yahoo?

Thanks,
JEB

What happens? Does 1 get through and 1 fail?

One question:

Am I supposed to use "server.com" in the helo, or do I use my ATT/Yahoo server, or some other?

Thanks for the help. This problem was caused by an error in the DNS records for the server. Once I corrected the DNS records, I can receive emails from the failing addresses now.
