Relative Paths 1

I had previously installed version 2 and had it open to the internet and my intranet. If I typed in "

http://Server1"

then it would go to sharepoint. If I can in from the outside "

http://myserver.com"

then it was all relative.

Now I'm trying to use version 3 (2007) and it seems like the paths aren't relative. Meaning, if I come in from the outside, it's trying to resolve to "

http://server1."

When I first set up the site, do I need to set up the URL for the internet and just always use that one? Am I missing something here?

Edit Public URL
Select your sharepoint site
Input an internet address
