Relative paths in PowerPoint

I created a big PowerPoint presentation, linking all image files instead of incorporating them. Then, I burnt all the work on a CD-R and discovered that all the image links were lost!

I find out the reason to be that the paths are not "relative" (say, the same directory as the main .ppt file) but "absolute" (c:\My Documents\presentation...).

How do I set PowerPoint to use relative links (search for image files in the same directory as the .ppt file)? I'm using PowerPoint 2000.

Thanks.

You would have to start by having all of your images in the same directory as the presentation then create the links.

The best thing for you to do at this point though would probably be use the pack-n-go wizzard within powerpoint. It should chase down all of your links and make sure that everything is in the right place before you burn to your cdr.

pack-n-go is under the file menu. When ever you use linked images instead of embedded you should use this feature to assure that all of your images, sounds, etc. are included with your presentation file.

Hope this helped!

Thank you very much. Actually, I started with ppt and images in the same directory. I'll try pack-n-go now.

The pack-n-go tool did not help me: first it creates a kind of "setup", but I want to just copy the files; second, it does not work, since it still looks for the original files on the HD.

Please help me as soon as possible. There are hundreds of images and I can't think re-adding them incorporating them. I'm desperate.
